About the Role

GDS delivers over 3000+ B2B summits, showcases and round tables as year. In H2 we will launch new commercial channels of branded content and bespoke sponsor-led events from our state-of-the-art production studios in the heart of Bristol.

We are looking for a highly experienced and ambitious Vice President of Campaign and Content Marketing to lead, direct and deliver both the marketing strategy, campaigns, and content for our digital and in person events as well as bespoke marketing services and events portfolios.

Inspiring, data and process driven, you are a hands-on leader expert in all aspects of Campaign Management, Product Marketing, Brand and Direct Response Marketing, Marketing Automation, Multi-channel Optimization, Social Media, and Content Marketing. Day to day delivery runs hand in glove with strategic vision and ROI. Value drives everything we do.

Commercially focused, you will oversee our UK and International marketing and data teams, playing to our strengths to maximise revenue from our 6 core B2B vertical markets. As a commercial leader, you will have a significant role in shaping the company’s strategic and accelerated growth plans. You and your team will design, implement, and monitor effective campaign and content strategies that align with our commercial business goals, delivering clear and measurable value and ROI for both our customers (sponsors and delegates) and for the business.

You must be a clear communicator who leads from the front, able to secure the buy-in from both internal and external key stakeholders.


Job Responsibilities

· Create a culture of high performance and data-driven continuous improvement within the marketing function. Demonstrate leadership presence and capability. Lead innovation thought leadership and value.

· P&L responsibility focused on commercial outcomes, particularly new business development

· Ensure clear and transparent reporting, forecasting and performance metrics and in place to key internal and external stakeholders, highlighting revenue risks, opportunities and changing landscapes.

· Work in partnership and aligned with our commercial pillars; provide support and direction to grow revenues through both new business and increased customer engagement and retention. Partner with sales and product teams to identify and develop new products, solutions and target market prospects to secure high value new business

· Lead the vision for our integrated go- to – market strategies. Raise awareness, interest and commercial commitment from our customers in the buy side and sell side of the industries we serve.

· Set and oversee the planning and execution of marketing objectives and strategy in terms of strategic positioning and key messages. Regularly review marketing plans, response rates, audience demographics, and industry best practices.

· Champion and lead best practice and behaviours across marketing systems and processes including Salesforce and Marketo overseeing developments in line with internal and external requirements. Set direction for our marketing automation strategy including personas, segmentation, landing pages, lead scoring, customer journeys and nurturing campaigns.

· Foster and lead internal partnerships, ensuring collaboration is driven with a customer focus

· Oversee internal Data & Analytics team to analyse data and use data to measure and improve performance.

· Resourcing, training and recruitment; planning, onboard, develop, performance manage, coach & motivate a high performing team. Strong focus on training and continuous personal development for yourself and the wider team.



· 8+ years campaign and content marketing experience within a highly process driven environment, telemarketing/telesales environments a plus.

· Ability to lead and motivate teams through change. Workforce planning and experience in developing colleagues for taking higher responsibilities. Ability to partner with HR and leadership on organizational design activity for Marketing optimization.

· Develop, manage, and implement best practice to processes, systems, and products to enhance the external and internal customer experience.

· Clear and demonstrable Salesforce, Marketo and digital marketing tools and techniques. Implementing and embedding marketing tools and technologies which will enhance functional efficiency and improve the customer journey.

· A strong track record in developing personas and customer journeys and applying those to build out the customer experience.
